Leslie K. Brown is an independent curator, scholar, and educator pursuing her Ph.D. in Art History at Boston University. A former curator at the Photographic Resource Center, she holds an M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and specializes in the history of photography and modern/contemporary art. 

During her tenure at the PRC, Brown curated and oversaw over 40 exhibitions.  She has also worked at the Cheekwood Museum of Art, the Austin Museum of Art, and guest curated exhibitions for the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum as well as the Provincetown Art Association and Museum.  Her recent projects include an essay for photographer Sandi Haber Fifield’s book, Between Planting and Picking and a presentation at the graduate Art History Symposium jointly sponsored by the Frick Collection and the IFA/NYU. 

As an adjunct faculty member, Brown has taught at the Art Institute of Boston, BU, and RISD and is currently a Visiting Lecturer at Wellesley College.  She has also served as a guest juror and reviewer for undergraduate and graduate photography departments; portfolio review events and opportunities; juried exhibitions at galleries and museums; and various fellowships and grants. She is a native of Rochester, NY and the product of a Kodak family.
